Help FAQs

Q.
Where do I find my vehicle's engine, modelĀ & chassis numbers?

A.
1. Release the vehicle's bonnet (lever inside vehicle on driver's lower right side above accelerator pedal) and open bonnet. (As you would for an oil top up at a service station).
2. Looking from the fron tof the vehicle you will find a metal tag riveted to the left side of the firewall.
Note: By writing down these numbers and including them in our web form we are able to source parts for your vehicle much more efficiently.

Q.
Why is it that diesel engines require more frequent engine oil changes than petrol engines?

A.
Diesel engines produce larger amounts of carbon, which is suspended in the engine oil.Eventually the build up of carbon will solidify the engine oil.

Q.
Why is it necessary to replace the coolant inhibitor in my vehicle?

A.
Coolant inhibitor has two properties - anti-freeze and corrosion inhibitor. The anti-freeze component remains over time (and is not really required in Auckland's climate), however the corrosion inhibitor depletes and should be replaced at certain intervals.
